Drug Dealers Apprehended

By Michaella Faith Wright

In a decisive move against the scourge of drug trafficking, the Harbour Police Division in Freetown has successfully apprehended two individuals involved in the illicit distribution of narcotics within the city limits. The arrests come as part of a concerted effort by law enforcement agencies to combat the rampant drug trade and curb substance abuse in the region.

The first suspect, identified as Sahr Jimissa, aged 25 and also known by the alias Chamack, was apprehended at his residence on 24 Jenner Wright Road, Freetown. Following a targeted operation conducted by the Operations Team of the Harbour Police Division, Jimissa was found to be in possession of a substantial quantity of the illegal substance known as Kush. Specifically, the police confiscated 104 wraps of Kush from Jimissa’s possession, indicating his significant involvement in the illicit drug trade.

Simultaneously, another individual, John Michael Simbo, aged 22 and residing at 88 Off Kelson Street, Ferry Junction, was also arrested by the Harbour Police Division. Simbo was apprehended with 9 wraps of Kush, further underscoring the pervasive nature of the narcotics trade within the city.

Both suspects, along with the seized exhibits, have been placed under investigation at the Harbour Police Division, where authorities are diligently working to gather additional evidence and build a strong case against them. The swift and decisive action taken by the police underscores their unwavering commitment to upholding law and order and safeguarding the well-being of the community.

In light of these recent arrests, LUC Kpulun, a prominent figure in the fight against drug and substance abuse, has reiterated the police force’s determination to root out drug dealers and their associates from the streets of Freetown. With a reputation for integrity, sincerity, and unparalleled professionalism, Kpulun has pledged to intensify efforts to dismantle the networks facilitating the illicit drug trade.

Speaking on behalf of the Harbour Police Division, Kpulun affirmed, “We will not relent in pursuing the drug dealers and their associates until they give up on the Kush trade. Our resolve to combat drug trafficking and substance abuse remains unwavering, and we are committed to working tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of our citizens.”

The arrests of Jimissa and Simbo represent a significant victory in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking and substance abuse in Freetown. However, authorities recognize that more work remains to be done, and they are calling on the community to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement efforts to eradicate this menace from their neighborhoods.

As the Harbour Police Division continues its crackdown on illicit drug activities, residents can expect to see heightened patrols and increased surveillance aimed at disrupting drug trafficking networks and deterring individuals from engaging in criminal behavior. Through collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies and the community, Freetown remains steadfast in its commitment to building a safer and drug-free environment for all its residents.
