To Maintain A Clean District

As Bo district has seen expansion in business, education and other activities the city has been plagued by indiscriminate littering of rubbish. And that had posed sanitation challenges for the people of the district, so in a bid to rid the city of filth and indiscriminate depositing of rubbish, Bo district council chairman, Victor Korseh Hindowa went to one of the crowded markets in the city, New London market to clear the piling garbage that had been there for long, he made a whistle – stop to the dump site and over saw the clearing of the rubbish himself, we are warning people who deposit rubbish in the wrong places as there are going to be consequences for defaulters and I am not going to compromise on that as filth breeds diseases, chairman Korseh Hindowa pleaded with the people to take responsibility by contributing Nle50 every month so that there will be regular cleaning of the market area especially and the district as a whole, the mounds of rubbish were cleared by a machine and loaded to a haulage truck to be deposited away from the district.

Responding, chair lady of the market women association assured cooperation with the council and declared that  “for our health and well-being of our members we will contribute the stipulated Nle50 so that the garbage will not pile up again as it had happened;” there were also pledges by members of the market sellers association to help monitor so that people do not deposit rubbish randomly and as they please. It ended with mutual understanding between the council and market sellers.
