A Defendant, Hawa Sei of Ngelehun village, Kenema district has been found not guilty by Her Worship, Magistrate Wilbri Hamida,M. John of Magistrate court No.2 in Kenema. Hawa Sei has been acquitted and discharged as the prosecution failed to reach the standards of proof, the standard of proof in all criminal procedure is beyond reasonable doubt in the burden of proving the defendant guilty rest solely with the Prosecution. In the magistrate court at Kenema between Sheku Vandi, plaintiff and Hawa Sei, defendant, she was summoned and served to appear in person before the court.

Before magistrate Wilbri Hamida. M. John Presiding over court 2 in Kenema, the defendant stand charged on two counts, Economic abuse contrary to Section 2 (a)(b) of the Domestic Violence Act No.20 of 2007 and threaten Language contrary to section 3(ii) of the public Order Act No.46 of 1965, the defendant pleaded not guilty on both counts, count one, a defendant, Hawa Sei on diverse dates between January 1, 2022 to March 19, 2025 at Ngelehun village, Nongowa Chiefdom, Kenema district, was alleged to have economically abused the complainant, sheku Vandi by depriving him from entering and get access to his plantation farm, count two, that Hawa Sei on the afformentioned date and place allegedly made use of threatened language against the complainant, Sheku Vandi with intent to provoke him to commit a breach of the peace.

The defendant, Hawa Sei was not found guilty on both counts as the Prosecution failed to reach the standard. Magistrate Wilbri Hamida therefore Acquitted and discharged Hawa Sei, the complainant, Sheku Vandi was represented by defence counsel, Mohamed Mustapha Bawoh whilst the defendant Hawa Sei was represented by Alhaji.
