The High Court Judge in Kenema, His Lordship, Hon. Justice Abdul Sheriff has Sentenced one Mohamed Senesie a farmer of Benduma village, Malegohun Chiefdom in Kenema District to Three years (3yrs.) imprisonment for House Breaking and Larceny. A Defendant, Mohamed Senesie was standing trial in court for an offence of House Breaking and Larceny contrary to section 26 subsection 1 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to Thomas. B. L. Sam the Registrar of the court in Kenema, a Defendant, Mohamed Senesie on October 10, 2025 at Benduma village, Kenema Judicial District in the Eastern province of Sierra Leone, broke and entered into the dwelling house of Tamba Amadu Katta and stole fiscal sum of Seventeen Thousand New Leones (NLe 17,000/00), property of the said Tamba Amadu Katta. The Defendant pleaded guilty and begged for mercy. He was represented by Defence Counsel, Patrick Kamara of Legal Aid Board in Kenema. In his plea mitigation, Patrick Kamara on behalf of his client, told the court to temper Justice with mercy for a minimal sentence. He further pleaded with the court that his client has shown remorse and that he would do it no more.
In his Judgement, Justice Abdul Sheriff considering the guilty plea taken by the convict and the plea in mitigation done by the Defence Counsel on behalf of his client for the court to temper Justice with mercy, the Judge sentenced Mohamed Senesie to 3yrs.imprisonment at the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre in Kenema.
The matter was prosecuted by Andrew. F. Kamara, State Counsel and Customary Law Officer in Kenema District.
