Court Sends Man to Six

Yusufu Conteh was sentenced by Magistrate Sahr Kekura at Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown on one count of larceny under Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the charge sheet, between November 1, 2024, and February 28, 2025, at No. 8A Sumaila Town, Freetown, Conteh stole 15 bags of cement, 40 tons of iron rods, 25 headpans, four shovels, one pickaxe, three mortise hammers, one black box, 15 large pipes, one roll of electrical pipe, one roll of binding wire, 10 five-gallon rubber containers, and 20 packets of nails, collectively valued at 30,280 New Leones.

When the charge was read, no plea was entered, nevertheless, Magistrate Kekura, citing the severity of the offense and substantial evidence, sentenced Conteh to six months in prison or a fine of 500 New Leones.
