The Magistrate Court in Kenema Presided over by the Principal Magistrate in Kenema, Hadiru Daboh of Magistrate Court No.1 has sent a Defendant, Tamba Amadu Yoya a farmer to jail for  Thirty Six (36)Months Imprisonment. The Defendant was arraigned in Court for unlawful possession of firearms contrary to section 19, subsection 2 (c) of the Arms and Ammunition Act of 1955, CAP 234 of the Laws of Sierra Leone as repealed and replaced by section 1 of the Arms and Ammunition Amendment Act No.17 of 1974.

According to Court records, the Defendant, Tamba Amadu Yoya, on Tuesday, August 20, 2025 at Njagbema village in Malegohun Chiefdom, Kenema Judicial District in the Eastern province of Sierra Leone, was in possession of Small Arms without license to wit One Single barrel short gun. He pleaded guilty and asked for mercy. He was sent to the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre (SLCC) in Kenema for a jail term of 36 months imprisonment.

The matter was prosecuted by Police Inspector, Alphan Samuel Musa, attached to the Legal and Justice Support Department in the Kenema Police Division.
