The British High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, Lissa Chesney has on the 15th May 2024 paid a whistle- stop visit to the people of Kowa Chiefdom in the Moyamba district. She was received by traditional dancers and the newly elected Paramount Chief of the chiefdom, Amy Tattor Kallon Tibbie. The visit was graced by chiefdom elders and other key stakeholders in the chiefdom and the reception was warm, though brief. An elderly man in the chiefdom remarked that ” this is the first time a British High Commissioner has paid visit to Njama Kowa Chiefdom we are grateful to the newly elected Paramount Chief.”

At a closed-door meeting with the Paramount Chief, Lissa Chesney as the Paramount Chief elect, Amy Tattor Kallon Tibbie about challenges she is facing. She told the P. C. elect that she ” feels very happy meeting her as a young female Paramount Chief.” The British High Commissioner promised ” help in agriculture and health sector.” But cautioned the chiefdom people against sexual and gender – based violence. She also warned against early marriage and entreated the chiefdom people to allow their girl children to go to school and complete it. Paramount Chief elect, Amy Tattor Kallon Tibbie thanked her for coming and expressed the elation of the chiefdom people for seeing her in their chiefdom. The British High Commissioner promised a future meeting with the Paramount Chief elect in Freetown.
