The Bo Government Secondary school, fondly referred to as Bo school has seen an up-to-date facelift of its school facilities from construction of new facilities to renovation of existing ones. After a delay in granting the contract, Harris Group of Company, led by Albert Leigh was given the task to undertake this major project. And without disappointing and proving the naysayers wrong he has done a remarkable job of finishing a lot of the work assigned to him. This has been the rehabilitation of existing structures which is 100% complete which was the reason for the partial handing over so school can start amidst the odds. So on the 13th. November of this year, on the grounds of Bo school, dignitaries from BADEA-, Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, board of the school, project team members and the principal of Bo school gathered to oversee partial handing over. This project is Lot 2 of the BADEA project which entirely should see 8 new constructions and the rehabilitation of 25 existing structures.
Chaired by Mr. Wai, the team was first taken on a conducted tour of the rehabilitated facilities before coming to handover a document that attests to work done. In her statement the Deputy Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education 2, Mamusu Petico Komeh Massaqoui revealed that she ” is proud that the president, Julius Maada Bio took it personal to restore the glory of his alma- mater.” And that she is glad to witness the ” first BADEA partial handing over.” That as a school where boys are groomed into men the school has seen an upgrade in toilet, electricity and water facilities. On his part the principal of the school, Hassan Kainessie thanked the government of Sierra Leone for selecting his school. ” My pupils now have a conducive learning environment which is going to enhance academic excellence.” Principal Kainessie did not forget in thanking the CEO of Harris Group of Company for a job well executed. Albert Leigh, CEO of Harris Group of Company told the gathering that ” my company is the redeemer that came to turn things around for BADEA and the the government.” That he was the last to start but the first to partially hand over. He thanked his team of engineers, technical workers. Albert Leigh rounded up that he is proud to have done a timely and quality work for Bo school.
The chairman of the handing over ceremony, Mr Wai concluded by thanking Harris Group of Company and entreated the school authorities to ensure that the facilities be used to “bring out the best in the pupils.” That with these facilities, there is no excuse for the children not perform well in their academic work. The team had faith in Harris Group of Company and they didn’t disappoint. The program was climaxed by the handing of documents showing that rehabilitation work has been completed.
