The Africa Young Voices (AYV) Media Empire has been honored for its exceptional contribution to national development, receiving a prestigious award from Diaspora Focus during a grand ceremony held on May 25, 2025, at the Bintumani Hotel in Freetown.
The event brought together prominent dignitaries, institutions, and stakeholders from across Sierra Leone to celebrate organizations making significant impacts in the areas of growth, development, and national unity. AYV was recognized as a key contributor for its unwavering dedication to responsible journalism, youth empowerment, and nation-building through media.
In his remarks, Mr. Emmanuel J.M., Chief Executive Officer of Diaspora Focus, praised AYV for its consistent and impactful work in informing, educating, and inspiring Sierra Leoneans both at home and in the diaspora. He noted that the award symbolizes recognition of the essential role media plays in driving positive change and fostering a progressive society.
Receiving the award on behalf of AYV, Mr. Ransford Wright, a representative from AYV TV, expressed heartfelt appreciation and reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and innovation in its service to the nation.
Several other institutions were also recognized for their outstanding contributions in sectors such as education, healthcare, and community development.
