Augustine Sesay, the Principal Clerk of the parliamentary Public Account Committee (PAC) of the Parliament of Sierra Leone has been appointed as the new head of the Public Accounts Committee secretariat.
In a momentous moment during the commencement of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) hearings for Local Councils audit reports in Kenema District on the 23rd, August 2024, the Deputy Speaker of Sierra Leone Parliament who doubles as the Chairman of the PAC made the announcement concerning the leadership of the PAC Secretariat, saying the principal clerk of the committee would now head the secretariat. This appointment recognizes Sesay’s exemplary service and outstanding contributions to Parliament.
Before this announcement, Augustine Sesay served as the longstanding Committee Clerk of the Works and Public Assets Committee, as well as the Transparency and Accountability Committee. He also served as a Researcher to the Public Account Committee during the Fourth Parliament and has been an integral part of various ad hoc committees established by Parliament to investigate matters of state interest.
Sesay has earned a stellar reputation for his diligent work and unwavering commitment to the PAC, making this appointment well-deserved. He is highly respected and admired by his colleagues for his steadfastness and dedication to his work.
Member of Parliament and staff alike wish him well in his new role as Head of Secretariat and Lead Clerk of the Public Accounts Committee in the Parliament of Sierra Leone.
