Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Alpha Sesay Esq., on Friday, 21st November 2025, held a constructive engagement with senior executives of the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) as part of ongoing national consultations on Sierra Leone’s constitutional and electoral reform processes.

The APC delegation comprising Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara (JFK), Ade Macaulay, Kerfala Marrah, and other prominent party leaders met with the Attorney General to discuss the need for collaborative, people-centred reforms that uphold the national interest.

Attorney General Sesay described the meeting as one conducted in an atmosphere of mutual respect, national responsibility, and shared commitment. He highlighted the importance of working collectively to ensure that the constitutional review process and the implementation of the Tripartite Committee recommendations remain inclusive, credible, and widely owned by the citizens of Sierra Leone.

Both the Government and the APC acknowledged that the reform agenda is essential to strengthening democratic governance and fostering national cohesion. They affirmed a mutual resolve to continue engagements in a constructive, transparent, and forward-looking manner that prioritizes the needs and aspirations of Sierra Leoneans.

The Attorney General reaffirmed the government’s willingness to broaden consultations with all political parties and stakeholders, stressing that such dialogue is critical to sustaining public trust and achieving reforms that are durable and legitimate.

Government looks forward to continuing these engagements with all parties. we will do this for Sierra Leone, he assured, Friday’s meeting represents another important step toward deepening dialogue between the government and the opposition as Sierra Leone moves forward with key reform programmes aimed at consolidating peace, democracy, and national unity.
