Sierra Leone intensifies its fight against the Mpox outbreak, with Chief Alhaji Alimamy Mohamed Sarjoh Jalloh, widely known as MED-SAJ, rallying public support for health regulations, on Wednesday , June 18, 2025 A respected Fullah leader, he urges citizens to actively participate in community awareness efforts.
Chief MED-SAJ highlighted the critical need for early detection and prompt medical care, encouraging symptomatic individuals to seek treatment immediately. He called for adherence to precautionary measures, drawing parallels with the nation’s response to Ebola and COVID-19 such as reducing social gatherings and upholding hygiene practices to curb the spread.
Expressing gratitude, he acknowledged the government’s efforts in importing Mpox medication, though he noted the initial supply may be limited, more will arrive to ensure widespread vaccination, he assured, urging trust in health authorities, we must follow all advice from the Ministry of Health, he added.
Emphasizing unity, Chief MED-SAJ stressed that successful health interventions hinge on public cooperation, without the people, there is no government, and vice versa, he said, advocating for robust support of the vaccination campaign. He framed vaccination as both a personal duty and a patriotic act, asserting, those doubting the vaccine’s efficacy lack patriotism.
