The Administration of Fourah Bay College (FBC) has on Tuesday, the 2nd of April, 2024, organised a training day for people selected to serve as exam supervisors for the first-semester exam of the 2023-2024 academic year. The said training held in the Deputy Vice Chancellor of FBC’s Committee Room, is believed to be geared towards ensuring a smooth and credible examination process.
Administrative analysis showed that the exam supervisors were recruited internally and externally and had to go through rigorous integrity checks by the college administration.
During the opening statement of the training, the Deputy Registrar of FBC, Mr. Brima Bah, who is the chief adviser to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Head of College) on administrative matters, expressed the college’s appreciation to the supervisors for accepting to serve in the conducts of the upcoming exams. However, he also cautioned and encouraged the supervisors to be proactive in upholding the academic integrity that guides examination processes of the college.
The Head of Exams at FBC, Mr. Umuru Sillah, then spoke as the chief architect of the exams processes of the college and explained the relevant conduct expected of the supervisors to ensure that the exams are held in a friendly, transparent, and credible manner.
Additionally, the assistant to the Head of Exams at FBC, Mr. Manny Mock, emphasised the importance of high-level displays of professionalism from the supervisors, stating that their actions during exams generate institutional legacies.
The training also included a question-and-answer session where the relevant authorities provided replies and clarifications on issues raised by the supervisors.
The first-semester examination is scheduled to commence on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024.
