At a jam-packed barray in Kowa Chiefdom, Moyamba district, the local unit commander (LUC) of the Moyamba police division, superintendent Sia Bernadette Sandy, has cautioned residents to steer clear of drug abuse and other deviant behaviors that threaten peace and development in the community.

It was Superintendent Sandy’s first visit to Kowa chiefdom since her transfer to the Moyamba division, and it coincided with a public declaration by paramount chief amy Tator Kallon Tibbie concerning the search for a missing person.

Addressing the gathering on Friday, 24th October 2024, the LUC commended paramount chief Tibbie for her proactive leadership and her generous support to the police, including the donation of a foam mattress and two bundles of zinc for the local police post.

Superintendent Sandy urged residents to work hand in hand with the police to maintain peace and security, as police officers, we do not rely on sorcery or juju to investigate crimes, but on careful and professional interrogation, she emphasized, we need your cooperation so that the truth about the missing individual in this chiefdom can be uncovered.”

She further stated that her previous experience as LUC in Bo would greatly assist her in instilling discipline, professionalism, and order in the Moyamba division.

Superintendent Sandy concluded by encouraging young people to arm themselves with education, discipline, and hard work instead of turning to drugs or other destructive habits, which she said could undermine the progress of Kowa chiefdom and the district as a whole.
