The resident Magistrate in Kenema, His Worship, Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Magistrate Court No.1 has committed a case of Armed Robber Attempted to kill Rev. Father in Kailahun to High Court in Kenema for trial. It could be recalled that a Defendant, Ansu Bockarie alias Bobson 5-0 was arraigned in court on Five count charges of Conspiracy, Attempted Robbery, Wounding with Intent and other related offences. Ansu Bockarie on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Saint Mary’s Parish Mission House, Vaama Section, Pendembu Town, Upper Bambara Chiefdom, Kailahun Judicial District in the Eastern Province of Sierra Leone, being Armed with a shovel, attempted to rob Rev. Father James Joshua Jamiru with intent to commit a felony. He caused Grevious Bodily Harms to Rev. Father with intent. A Defendant on the afformentioned date and Venue, wounded father Jamiru with intent contrary to section 18 of the offences against the Persons Act 1861. Police report and endorsed medical report of the victim was tendered in court, Nine (9) witnesses’ statements were tendered, One old shovel, One old machete, charged statement of the Defendant was also tendered in court.

The Prosecution relied on Section 112(b) Paragraph two (2) of the Criminal Procedure Act ( CPA) 1964. No bail was granted to the Defendant and he was reminded at the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre (SLCC) in Kenema.

In his ruling, Magistrate Hadiru Daboh having gone through the evidences in court and having regards that the Prosecution has discharged its task in entirety, the Magistrate was left with no options but to commit the matter to the High Court of Sierra Leone in Kenema for trial. The matter was prosecuted by Police Inspector, Alphan Samuel Musa of Magistrate Court No.1 in Kenema.
