The regional commander for Freetown-East, AIG Brima Kanneh, on Monday, 24th November 2024, held a high-level strategic briefing with all local unit commanders (LUCs) and operations officers under his division as part of preparations for full enforcement of the festive season operational order, which came into effect the same day.
Addressing the commanders, AIG Kanneh stressed the need for heightened vigilance, professionalism, and proactive policing as the region enters a period known for increased movement, social activities, and heightened security risks, he noted that the operational order authorises the deployment of both police and military personnel, including joint patrols across key areas to maintain stability, deter criminal activity, and boost public confidence.
The regional commander urged all units to uphold strict discipline, ensure effective coordination, and respond swiftly to emerging incidents, he emphasised that the success of the festive security operations will depend on strong leadership, teamwork, and clear communication at every level of command.
Deputy regional commander, ACP Patrick Lahai Dumbuya, also addressed the meeting, calling for unity and cooperation among all officers, he reminded them that a cohesive and supportive approach is essential for delivering efficient and reliable security services during the busy holiday period.
The session ended with clear directives on addressing anticipated challenges, with commanders reaffirming their readiness for full implementation of the festive season security framework.
