E.U. lauds A.U. for historic continental free trade pact, pledges support

ACtionAis SL promotes Learning in sella

ActionAid Sierra Leone commissioned a school in Kamakoni village, Sella Limba Chiefdom in Karene District on 23rd May, 2024. The project was funded through its child sponsorship program.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs. Emily Kadiatu Gogra, Deputy Minister (1) of Basic and Senior Secondary School, expressed gratitude over the commissioning of the school and, citing the contributions of ActionAid Sierra Leone in promoting education, especially in rural areas.

“Whenever you hear about ActionAid, you know happiness follows. They go deep into the interior for their development programs, bringing joy and progress to the most remote places,” she said, while encouraging the community to own the development and pay more attention on the education of their children.

During the commissioning of the school, the Executive Director of ActionAid Sierra Leone, Mr Foday Bassie Swarray, appreciated guests and community stakeholders for recognizing the work of his organization and pleaded to continue rendering more supports to deprived communities across the country.

Kelvin Kallay, Deputy Director of Non-Government Organization Affairs, acknowledged the work of ActionAid and pleaded for more supports in Karene District.
