Cee Bah - Information Minister

By Dadson A Musa

I came to know Chernoh Bah when he was a pupil at the great Albert Academy Secondary school. He was given a speaking role at an event where dignitaries, both local and international, were packed and never disappointed. I lived at Berry Street then, very close to Albert Academy school. Should i say the school groomed him for what he is doing now in life or it should be attributed to his own personal endeavours in life. It is like the information ministry is crafted for him. Chernor Bah is a natural podium speaker and has a very sharp intellect. And one thing, not because he articulates well in English so he should conduct press conferences or events solely in rather he chose krio which is a mark of humility and magnanimity. He has been smooth on the media, both local and international. In addition, he has brought innovations to the ministry and things seem to be going well at the moment.

A very young minister but has brought with him so much maturity and tact. It is only sad that the ministry was divided and that has given him reduced role. This article is not in any way suggesting that he is a saint and has the magic wand. With youthfulness, human beings are bound to make mistakes and one cannot take that from him. But so far so good with one year gone in office he has handle the job well. Chernor Bah has activism as a background where he also excelled. Meeting people like Michelle Obama at the world stage is no small achievement for a young man of his ilk. Apart from the presidential town hall meeting which he just organised, a first of its kind and the press conferences he has handled very well.

As an academic he has excelled very well from Academy through Fourah Bay College where he was very active in student unionism, he made excellent grades in secondary school and even at college level. He did not waste time in getting his academic credentials right. Has handled journalists who have come hard in criticizing government with magnanimity and understanding. Diminutive in size, he is fit -for-purpose and has this open mind that makes him a leader. President Julius Maada Bio never made a mistake in appointing this young man to that office. Chernor Bah, like his peers in cabinet is giving the youths of this country hope and inspiration and still has a long way to go.
