A two-day inter-sec tournament of squash game, consisting eleven schools has been held at the St. Edwards’ Secondary School ground, Kingtom, Freetown.
The event which was held from the 31st of May 2024 to the 1st of June 2024 was supervised by Sierra Leone Squash Association and graced by a section of senior management officials from N-P SL. Sessions were organized in three categories; under 14, under 16 and under 21.
The schools that took part were; St Edwards Secondary School, The Annie Walsh, Prince of Wales, Grammar School, FSSG, St. Joseph Secondary School, Albert Academy, Lebanese school, Collegiate, Methodist Girls’ High School and Services Secondary School. The national squash coach, Baico Sesay said that they “took the tournament to schools to catch the players young.”
The finals of the competition were played on the second day. One of the finalists in the under 21 category, Shima Koroma said that he “trained very hard and that he was excited to be playing in the finals.” He expressed optimism to represent SL in international tournaments.
