A group of former presidents of the Sierra Leone Bar Association has called for the nullification of results and outcome of the recently conducted BAR association elections in Kenema, East Sierra Leone.
In a release dated 20th May 2024, the group stated that they condemn all attempts to ‘disenfranchise members of the Association and to deny them their right to elect new leaders.’ ‘Any conduct that undermines the democratic process within our Association is unacceptable and must be thoroughly investigated and addressed’ the group’s statement continued.
The statement furthered that as a result of the gravity of all concerns and issues, ‘we unequivocally call for the nullification of the results announced at the AGM in Kenema.’
The nine former presidents that signed the resolution to nullify the Bar Elections’ results include, Charles Francis Margai Esq, Francis Gabbidon Esq, Emmanuel Shears-Moses Esq, Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara Esq, Abdul Tejan-Cole Esq, Elvis Kargbo Esq, Ibrahim Sorie Esq, Rhoda Sufian-Kargbo Esq and Basita Michael Esq.
