At a jam-packed court room in Bo, on Tuesday, 21st April 2026, security was top notch. Both prosecution and defence lawyers were present in court and waited with baited breath to get the matter going. The mayor of Kenema was also present with his entourage. And buses were also packed outside the court room that had brought supporters and sympathizers from far away Kenema.

For an hour and over the waiting went on and the filled- to – the – brim court room was silent, only waiting for the magistrate to arrive. And while the waiting was on word came that the magistrate, Samuel Brima “is not coming to court.”

Bemused, the crowd outside after getting the non-appearance information went into mixed arguments. Those in sympathy with LAJ were clearly frustrated because their hope of a superstar being released on bail was dashed. Monya Sheriff Esq, lead prosecutor for the matter told this medium that he ” had no idea why the magistrate is absent.” But other people when spoken to revealed that the ” magistrate is not in good health.” The matter has been adjourned to Tuesday, 28th. April 2026. This means the popular rapper is going to spend our nation’s independence behind bars. A bystander who spoke on condition of anonymity said that ” this should serve as a lesson to the rapper as he has been involved severally in falling foul with the law.”
