A Thirty-Five (35yrs.) year old Madieu Sesay, farmer of Lowoma village in Kenema District has on January 22, 2026, sentenced to four years (4yrs.) imprisonment by His Lordship, Hon. Justice Abdul Sheriff of the High Court in Kenema for wounding with intent.

The Convicts, Madieu Sesay was arraigned in Court on one count charge of wounding with intent contrary to section 18 of the offences against the persons act 1861.

According to Andrew. F. Kamara, State Counsel and Customary Law Officer in Kenema, Madieu Sesay on September 24, 2025 at Kenema City, wounded Bobor Patrick with intent to cause him grevious bodily harm. He pleaded guilty and begged for mercy. Defence counsel, Patrick Kamara of Legal Aid Board, pleaded with the court to temper Justice with mercy.

In his Judgement, Justice Abdul Sheriff, considering the guilty plea of the Convicts and the plea in mitigation done by the Defence Counsel onbehalf of his clients, he Sentenced Madieu Sesay to 4 years imprisonment at the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre (SLCC)in Kenema. In another news, Gbessay Abdulai a farmer of Talia village, Nongowa Chiefdom in the Kenema Judicial District, was sentenced to Six (6) months imprisonment for House Breaking and Larceny contrary to section 26(1) of the Larceny Act 1916. A convict, Gbessay Abdulai on October 30, 2025, at Talia village allegedly broke and entered into the store of Alice Lahai and stole three quantities of Cocoa beans valued at Five Hundred and Eight New Leones (NLe 508/00), property of Abie Lahai. Considering the guilty plea taken by the Convict and the plea in mitigation done on his behalf for the court to temper Justice with mercy, Justice Sheriff Sentenced Gbessay Abdulai to a Jail term of 6months imprisonment at the (SLCC)in Kenema.
