The Officer Commanding (Traffic) at Bamoi Luma Police Station, assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Tenneh Y. Kamara, along with her team, engaged the vice chairman and executive members of the Foreign vehicles union over persistent illegal parking along the Kambia-Guinea Highway and the Rokupr entrance.
The continued parking of foreign trucks and trailers along these routes has raised serious security and road safety concerns, frequently obstructing traffic flow and contributing to road accidents. during the engagement, ASP Tenneh Y Kamara emphasized the need for the immediate removal of abandoned and illegally parked foreign vehicles to ensure free movement for motorists, motorcyclists, and pedestrians.
ASP Kamara warned the Foreign vehicles vice chairman to liaise with vehicle owners and drivers to clear all illegally parked vehicles from the highway and maintain designated parking areas, she further called on the executive members to support the police in removing long Guinea trailers and heavy-duty trucks from the roadway.
In response, the vice chairman expressed appreciation to ASP Tenneh Y Kamara and her team and requested a two-day grace period to relocate all foreign trailers and trucks to a designated parking area in Kamaraka, he assured the police of full compliance and committed to engaging all affected vehicle owners and drivers.
ASP Tenneh Y Kamara concluded the engagement by issuing a strong warning against overloading, reckless driving, speeding, and the operation of unregistered or unlicensed vehicles, she encouraged continued cooperation between the police and transport stakeholders to maintain a safe and traffic-free district.
The engagement ended successfully, with the Foreign Vehicles executives expressing gratitude to the officer commanding and her team for the timely traffic safety awareness campaign.
