E.U. lauds A.U. for historic continental free trade pact, pledges support

Support Sports in Sierra Leone is proud to announce that beginning in February 2026, its youth development programs will officially expand to Bo, the country’s second-largest city, this marks a major milestone in the organization’s mission to empower young people through sports, leadership training, and community service.

At the center of this expansion is the Margru Kinson Equipment Room Program, named in honor of the pioneering 19th-century Sierra Leonean educator, the initiative will partner with two vibrant youth sports organizations to supply essential sporting equipment and deliver empowerment classes. In return, participating youth will contribute to community development through structured service projects coordinated by support Sports in Sierra Leone or trusted local partners.

Following a rigorous selection process, the organization has chosen to collaborate with,Tribe’s tennis academy, Deden sports Academy, building the foundation in Bo, in preparation for the rollout, support sports in Sierra Leone has secured and begun furnishing its new office space in Bo, creating a welcoming hub for youth engagement, the organization has also appointed Alie Kamara, a dedicated young activist, as the Bo district coordinator.

Program Launch Set for January 31 the official launch event for the Margru Kinson Equipment room program is scheduled for January 31, 2026, with activities kicking off in February, under the leadership of chief executive officer Charles Marshall, this expansion builds on two years of successful programming in Freetown, where tennis beginners have received transportation, meals, and educational support.

These achievements were made possible through ongoing collaboration with the Sierra Leone Tennis association, led by president Andy Bam, ensuring that youth athletes not only play but also thrive academically and socially.

Support Sports in Sierra Leone says it is energized by the opportunities ahead and confident that the Bo expansion will replicate and even surpass the success already seen in Freetown.
