E.U. lauds A.U. for historic continental free trade pact, pledges support

The Principal Magistrate in Kenema, His Worship Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Magistrate Court No. 1, has committed five defendants Sidi Yayah Fofanah (alias Wiji), Francis Kaindaneh, Madieu Sesay, Mohamed Mansaray, and Alfred Goba to stand trial at the high Court of Sierra Leone for various criminal offences contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.

According to the particulars of offences presented before the court, Sidi Yayah Fofanah, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Tongo police station, Tongo Field, Lower Bambara chiefdom in the Kenema district, was found in possession of five raps of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa, on the same date and at the same location, he was also found in possession of class a drugs (250 mg of Tramadol) without lawful authority.

Francis Kaindaneh, on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Ngombu Layout, Kenema City, with intent to steal, broke and entered the classroom of Salamy Memorial Secondary School and stole nine (9) iron chairs, each valued at NLe 300, totaling NLe 2,700, the chairs were the property of Bockarie Nomolie Salamy and were in the custody of Mathew Junior Fatorma, on the same date and place, he also maliciously wounded Yeama Caulker and assaulted her, thereby occasioning actual bodily harm.

Madieu Sesay, on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Konia Village, Lower Bambara Chiefdom, Kenema district, wounded Bobor Patrick with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and assaulted him, occasioning actual bodily harm.

Alfred Goba of Bockarie-Gbay Street and Mohamed Mansaray of Dasama Street, both of Kenema City, on Friday, September 26, 2025, at No. 75 Blama Road, Kenema, conspired with unknown individuals to commit a felony to wit, store breaking and larceny, the two defendants broke and entered into the store of Kakpama Dauda Sandi and stole one planning machine valued at NLe 170,000, property of the said Kakpama Dauda Sandi.

After reviewing the prosecution’s evidence, Magistrate Hadiru Daboh ruled that sufficient evidence had been established against the accused persons, he therefore committed all five defendants to stand trial at the high court of Sierra Leone.

The matters were prosecuted by inspector Alphan Samuel Musa and police constable 15361 Vonja Thomas, both attached to the legal and justice support department of the Kenema police division.
