The Presidential Taskforce on Hajj, Sierra Leone paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Hajj and Umrah Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Tawfig Al-Rabiah at the Superdome in Jeddah on Monday.

Chairman of the Taskforce, Alhaji Murtada Sesay, expressed thanks and appreciation to the Minister and the Government of Saudi Arabia for successfully organizing the 5th Hajj Conference and Exhibition. He informed the Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Affairs that after every Hajj season, Sierra Leone’s President His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio honours the Hajj pilgrims with a reception at State House during which pilgrims are given the platform to explain to the President about their experiences in the Hajj, noting that the President do not just listen to him as Chairman of the Hajj Taskforce but he also sought the views of the pilgrims themselves, as the President values the pilgrimage greatly.

The Saudi Minister congratulated the Taskforce on their participation, highlighting its significance for the next Hajj season.

The meeting was attended by Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Ambassador Mohammed Barrie, Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, Alhaji Mohamed Haji-Kella, and the Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce on Hajj, Ambassador Dr Ibrahim Jalloh.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Hajj and Umrah Affairs also held a strategic meeting with Heads of Hajj offices to enhance a successful 2026 Hajj. On the sidelines of the Hajj Conference, a Nusuk portal training was organised for members of the Presidential Taskforce on Hajj, Sierra Leone for effective service delivery during the 2026 Hajj.
