The Ministry of Agriculture has concluded a one-day induction training for newly recruited Accountants and Assistant Accountants to support the government’s flagship Feed Salone Initiative in collaboration with the District Agriculture Offices (DAO).

In his keynote address, the Minister of Agriculture Dr. Henry Musa Kpaka Started by welcoming all the Staffs present in the training and urged the new staff to uphold integrity and accountability, stressing the importance of their role in managing public resources effectively. He echoed President Bio’s call for transparency in delivering on the Feed Salone promise.

Chief Accountant Mr. Mathew S. Yokie commended the new recruits and reminded them of their responsibilities in society as custodians of public funds.

Mr. A.Y. Manasaray presented an overview of the Feed Salone programme, its objectives, structure, and the importance of accurate financial reporting.

Mr. Adams S. Kargbo emphasized transparency and accountability in the utilization of resources, while Mr. Salieu Jalloh from the Accountant General’s Department (AGD) explained the organizational structure of District Agriculture Units and the roles of finance officers within the system.

The training reinforced the Ministry’s commitment to efficient service delivery and sound financial management in driving national food security in Sierra Leone.
