Patrick Williams, a mason, appeared before Principal Magistrate Shar Kekura at Freetown Magistrate Court No. 1 on May 9, 2025, charged with the alleged murder of Abioseh Wray.
Williams faces one count of murder under Section 1 of the offences against the person Act 1861, as amended by Section 1(a) of the Abolition of the death penalty Act 2021. Police allege that on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Leicester village, Mountain Cut, Freetown, Williams murdered Wray.
No plea was taken during the hearing due to the severity of the charge, prosecutor ASP Ibrahim Mansaray requested an adjournment, citing the absence of witnesses. Magistrate Kekura granted the request, remanding Williams in custody until the next hearing on Friday, May 16, 2025.
