Residents of Rokupr community have expressed frustration to Expo Times over the failure of Power Leone to provide prepaid electricity meters, despite payments made more than two years ago. Many households and businesses remain without meters, leading to unreliable power supply and financial losses.

Speaking to Expo times, local businessman Alhajie Kamara, “We paid for these meters in good faith, but up to now, we have received nothing. How long must we wait?”

Similarly, Madam Bomposseh Jalloh, a resident, lamented the struggle of accessing electricity. “Without a meter, we cannot properly track our consumption, and some people are forced to share connections, which is expensive and unfair.”

Community Stakeholder Councillor Abu Baker Gbeteh Kamara called on the government and Power Leone to address the situation urgently. “We demand answers. If people have paid, they should receive their meters. We are tired of empty promises.”

Efforts to get a response from Power Leone Customer care operation manager Mr Kojo on the reason behind the delay have been unsuccessful, as he has not responded to inquiries.

Residents are now urging the relevant authorities to intervene and ensure that Power Leone fulfils its commitment without further delays.
