In a recent crackdown, Inspector J.M. Mansaray and his team arrested traders at the Bamoi Luma Trading Centre for allegedly selling adulterated palm oil, a practice deemed hazardous to public health. During the operation, police seized 240 five-gallon rubbers and 11 drums of palm oil mixed with salt.
Inspector Mansaray stated that the operation is part of efforts to combat illegal activities that endanger public safety. He expressed his unwavering commitment to ensuring that the perpetrators face justice.
One of the suspects, Michealla Lonjopieh, denied any involvement in the act and pleaded for her release, claiming her business was legitimate. Despite her claims, Inspector Mansaray affirmed that all suspects will remain in custody until investigations are concluded and legal actions taken.
The Bamoi Luma Trading Centre has reportedly been a hub for such illicit practices, raising concerns among consumers and authorities alike. Inspector Mansaray assured the public that his team will continue working diligently to address such issues and protect public health.
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities involving food adulteration.
