VP Juldeh Assures Labour

Vice President Dr. Mohammed Juldeh Jalloh, on Friday, January 10, 2025 paid a surprised working visit at the Ministry of Employment, Labor and Social Security and assured the ministry of improved infrastructure.

His visit is part of his routine activities to reach out to Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs) with the aim of assessing their work and appreciating them at the same time.

Speaking to journalists, Vice President Jalloh stated that “I am here to appreciate them for the work they have done and to also get a detailed insight about their work for 2025 and see how the Presidency can come in and support”, noting infrastructure is one of the key challenges for the ministry and that government will see how they can rehabilitate them. He added that there are some neglected structures while promising the government’s intervention to restore them.

“I was able to meet with the Minister and the entire leadership at the ministry. They briefed me about all the work that they did last year and the number of things they have earmarked for cabinet this year including the National Voluntary Scheme, and other policies that they want to push through cabinet to improve working environment for citizens across this country,” Vice President remarked.

Speaking on the ongoing construction of the new building for the ministry, he emphasized that the government of President Bio will ensure that building is completed soonest to be used by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security while thanking the minister and his team for a progressive policy and the fresh ideas they have moving forward.

During his visit, the Vice President toured offices and projects currently undertaken by the Ministry.

On his part, the Minister of Employment, Labor and Social Security Mohammad Rahman Swaray expressed delight over what he termed as the very “surprised and low key” visit of the Honorable Vice President to the Ministry of Labor, noting he shared the new ideas with the country’s second gentleman.
