November Coup

The Ministry of Information and Civic Education has recently issued out a press release indicating that through a joint operation between Guinea and Sierra Leonean security forces five fugitives wanted for alleged roles in November 26, 2023 failed coup attempt have been arrested.

The five arrested individuals were Major F. S Kamara, Major Patrick Abu Odendeh Sesay aka PAO, Major Juana Kamara, Fatmata Kamara and Major I. Bangura.

“All five individuals will be processed and transferred to Sierra Leone in the coming days, after which they will be interrogated by law enforcement authorities,” excerpt of the press release states, adding that, “The Government of Sierra Leone extends its gratitude to our Guinean counterparts for their invaluable support and friendship.”

In a telephone interview with the Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah disclosed that the government still keeps on its promises to give reward to anyone who provides useful information that will lead to arrest to any of the alleged fugitives. On this particular matter however, he did not clarify whether or not the government is going to handover the reward to the Guinean authority or the individuals who provided the information that led to the arrest.
