Momoh Banya a driver residing at Blama Town, Small Bo Chiefdom, Kenema District, Sahr Nyuma a mason, resident of 46 Combema Road in Kenema City and One Ibrahim Momoh a labourer of Koryagbema-Layout in Kenema have been committed to Stand Trial at the High Court in Kenema by His Worship, Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Magistrate Court No.1 in Kenema for prohibition of possession and use of drugs. The Three (3) Defendants were arrainged in Court on different files for possession of Drugs Contrary to Section 8(a) of the National Drugs Control Act No.10 of 2008.

A Defendant, Momoh Banya on January 9, 2026 at Bo-Kenema High way, small Bo Chiefdom, Kenema Judicial District in the Eastern province of Sierra Leone, was found in possession of Thirty-Seven (37) wraps of Kush. No bail was granted to the Defendant. Sahr Nyuma on January 19, 2026 at Capitol in Kenema City, was found in possession of Sixteen (16) wraps of Kush. No bail was granted to the Defendant. Another Defendant, Ibrahim Momoh of Koryagbema-Layout in Kenema, on December 24, 2025 at Cow-yard Section in Kenema,was found in possession of Five (5) tramadol capsules. No bail was granted to the Defendant. No plea was taken and the three Defendants were all remanded at the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre (SLCC)in Kenema. The matters were committed to High Court for Trial.

In his ruling, Magistrate Hadiru Daboh having gone through the evidences in court and having regards that the Prosecution has discharged its task in entirety, the Magistrate was left with no options but to commit the three Defendants to stand trial at the High Court in Kenema. The matters were prosecuted by Police Sergeant, 10734 David Idriss, attached to the Legal and Justice Support Department in the Kenema Police Division.
