RAIC Boss Dr Ibrahim Seaga Shaw
The Right to Access Information Commission (RAIC) is to climax its tenth anniversary with a Special Dinner and Awards Night Ceremony on Friday 22nd November 2024 at 7pm at the Family Kingdom Resort Royal Hall, Aberdeen, Freetown.
Since its establishment in 2014, especially under the leadership of its current Chairman and Information Commissioner Dr. Ibrahim Seaga Shaw, who took over in 2018, the RAIC has been greatly robust and innovative in implementing its mandate of facilitating access to information in Sierra Leone in a fashion that has been widely recognized and commended.
The Awards Ceremony, which would feature live band and several other entertainment displays, is a way of recognizing and commending persons and institutions that have effectively and consistently complied with and utilized the Right to Access Information Law.
The Awards will have the following categories:
- Proactive Disclosure of Information (PDI). This category is for ministries, departments and agencies that have their Proactive Disclosure Schemes approved since 2019.
- Annual Compliance Report (ACR). This category is for ministries, departments and agencies that have consistently excelled in submitting their ACR since 2019.
- Freedom of Information Request (FOI). This category is for requesters who have consistently used the RAI Law to access information since 2019.
- Compliance. This category is for ministries, departments and agencies that have regularly been replying to Freedom of Information requests since 2019.
The Special Awards and Dinner Night has reservations as follows: platinum (table for three – Nle5,000), gold (table for two – NLe3,000) and silver (table for one – NLe1,000).
