The situation was swiftly addressed by Regional Operations Officer, Superintendent John S. Koroma, who intervened on-site and invited both parties to the Regional Police Headquarters at Ross Road to meet with the Regional Commander.

At the meeting, AIG Kanneh, accompanied by Deputy ACP Patrick Lahai Dumbuya and Superintendent Koroma, emphasized the importance of lawful conduct and peaceful resolution. “All disputes must be addressed through dialogue and legal channels, not confrontation,” he said, urging calm and cooperation while the police continue to mediate the matter.

The discussions concluded with an agreement for the Regional Police Command to visit the disputed land on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, to conduct further assessment and facilitate a peaceful resolution.

Both Mr. Saidu Tonkoh, Headman of Rogbangba and Hastings Wharf Community, and Mr. Kalokoh, Chairman of the Rogbangba Motorbike Riders, pledged to maintain peace and adhere to proper procedures to ensure public order.

The engagement reflects the Freetown-East Regional Police Command’s commitment to proactive community policing, conflict resolution, and the prevention of violence over land disputes.
